The British Columbia education system, as well as its institutions and teachers, is regarded as being among the highest quality in the world. The Provincial Government, through the Ministry of Education, provides and regulates the curriculum taught in our schools by government certified teachers.
Most students in our province enter kindergarten at age 5 and generally complete Grade 12 at age 18. Our school year begins in September and finishes in June, with additional supplementary programs continuing throughout the summer. Our school day is 8:30 am to 2:40 pm, Monday to Friday, with breaks for nutrition and lunch.
