Accommodation

Students that join the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows International Program are placed with either a host family arranged by our school district administered Homestay Program or privately arranged host family.

Host families play an important role in supporting international student success.  In addition to providing a safe place to sleep and eat; host families also provide students with support with adjusting to Canadian culture and emotional well being.  Our dedicated homestay coordinators carefully review and check potential host families to ensure they are able meet our expectations and ensure students will be well supported.  If a private homestay placement is used, the private host family must meet the expectations of the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows International Program.

All host families whether in our school district Homestay Program or in a private homestay placement are expected to follow the Ministry of Education’s K-12 International Student Homestay Guidelines.
