The purpose of the BC K-12 International Student Homestay Guidelines is to provide consistent, province-wide best practice standards for B.C.’s K-12 homestay sector. The Guidelines were developed between October 2014 and June 2015 by a working group comprised of K-12 school district, independent school and Ministry of Education representatives. These Guidelines were subsequently consulted on with the K-12 sector in the spring of 2015. They represent the commonly-held view on industry best-practice.
