Sad to see you go

Many times throughout the year, students leave us to return home. It is always heart-wrenching to leave after having made good friends that you will not see every day. We wish all of our departing students much success in their future studies. We hope that you will come back and visit us.  Keep in touch […]

SD42 International Education is delighted to welcome our new (and our returning) international students. We look forward to helping you have a successful year studying in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows school district. Check out the Sept. 3rd Orientation Day photos on our Facebook page.

Tepeyac Institute plays soccer at WSS

Mr. Jorge Anguiano, owner of Tepeyac Institute in Mexico, was welcomed to Westview Secondary on April 5th for the annual soccer tournament. Tepeyac has sent boys’ soccer teams and girls’ soccer teams to the tournament for the past 4 years. Dennis Schmidt presented Mr. Anguiano with mementos of the tournament.  Read the article in the Maple Ridge Times newspaper.

Welcome Mexico

SD42 is pleased to be hosting students from a number of schools in Mexico. In the mornings, the groups have been studying English at SRT, MRSS, PMSS and Davie Jones. They have spent the afternoons exploring many of BC’s great outdoor activities. Apparently, snowshoe races are quite difficult!

On February 15th, International students piled into 2 buses for the IntEd monthly field trip. This month’s trip was to Cypress mountain. The conditions were fabulous; lots of snow and sun. All students took lessons in the morning,  and either skied or snowboarded in afternoon.  Check out a full gallery of pictures on our Facebook page.

Gung Hay Fat Choi

Visiting students from Beijing and Shenzhen, China celebrated Chinese New Year at Riverside Centre in SD42. Students received the traditional red envelope, symbolizing good luck for the coming year. After a day of shopping, students were happy to show off their new purchases such as iPads and iPhones.
