Our international secondary education program offers excellent opportunities for international students age 13-18 to learn English and study the government accredited academic curriculum leading to a British Columbia Secondary School Diploma.
Students can choose to study in a short program, a full year or complete the graduation program in one of the Secondary School Program (grades 8-12). Students can also participate in the Summer Programs and High School preparation programs (April-June).
School District 42 features six quality secondary schools. Our Secondary schools pride themselves on high academic standards and a welcoming environment.
All of our schools deliver Government accredited secondary school curriculum, programs and examinations, with a consistent standard of high quality; taught by government certified teachers.
A one-year secondary school program is comprised of eight courses of study, including the core curriculum subjects of English, mathematics, social-studies and sciences, as well as several courses of the students’ own choice.
International students are placed into one of our secondary schools with the goal of full integration into the regular classrooms.
English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction is also offered to help students adjust to the Canadian school and cope with classroom English.
