Westview Secondary is a centrally located bright and modern school campus that offers strong academic courses, career preparation programs, and second language classes in French and Spanish. Westview’s thriving international population adds to the wonderful diversity of the school. The school has a state-of-the-art theatre and arts studio featuring ceramic and pottery rooms. Digital photography and media arts are also available.
Business education, information technology, foods, textiles, textile arts and crafts, woodwork, metalwork, and general technology are all offered at the junior level. Senior options include more specialized classes, such as marketing, carpentry and joinery, drama, film and television, yearbook, criminology, psychology, and leadership. Westview also offers an industrial design program featuring laser engineering and robotics, and digital animation, special effects, and game design programs.
The school’s physical education department has a first-class gymnasium, with weight training and fitness facilities. Students are welcome to use the weight room at lunch or after school.
The Microsoft IT Academy provides students with industry-leading technology skills. As well, Westview’s popular basketball and soccer academies provide in-class and on-field instruction for student-athletes.
